Looking for something different than your usual go-to weekend plans? While there are always concerts to attend and shows to see in Denver, sometimes you're looking for something a little unique and hands-on.
Here's a few things going on in Denver this weekend you may want to give a try.
Final Friday Food Truck Fiesta
Where? Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew - 2810 Larimer St. Denver, CO
When? June 27th, 6-10 pm
How much? Free admission, cost varies per truck.
8 food trucks, salsa dancing, beer, kid's activities, raffles and a DJ will make this a fiesta to enjoy with all of your amigos. Ever since food trucks became a big thing in the city, a board member of the Five Points Culture District Rotary club, Suzie Ahlers has dreamed of throwing an event to showcase food trucks and just have a good time, so support that dream and enjoy a unique and fun evening.
Immersive Street Arcade
Where? Champa St. in Denver from 14th St. to 16th St. Mall.
When? Every Thursday & Saturday from June 7 - July 26
How much? Free admission!
This first-of-its-kind street arcade is a unique way to enjoy the beautiful summer weather and play some giant, immersive video games. Using a combination of the Denver Theater District's large LED screens, social media, customized video games, and Microsoft Kinect , this is a great experience for everyone, not just gamers. Businesses in the area are expected to keep the party going by donating their own live music, karaoke, dancing, theater and comedy.
Denver Handmade Homemade Market
Where? 1301 W. 10th St. Denver, CO
When? June 28th, 1-7 pm
How much? Suggested $5 donation at door, or bring something homemade / handmade to donate!
Help support the local economy and it's crafty residents at this community market. Produce, baked good, prepared dinners, handmade jewelry, ceramics, arts and crafts will be featured in the market to purchase. Live music, delicious food and activities for all ages are spaced throughout the market.
Denver Taco Festival
Where? 32nd to 34th streets on Larimer
When? June 28-29, 12-6 pm both days
How much? Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.
This one-of-a-kind food and music festival features live entertainment (including Chihuahua racing and lucha libre wrestling), green chili and salsa cook offs, delicious tacos and who could forget about the tequila! Enjoy great food and drinks in a high-energy setting.
Aurora Arts Festival: ReUp (Recycle & Upcycle)
Where? Fletcher Plaza - 9898 E. Colfax Ave. Aurora, CO
When? June 28th, 10 am-8 pm
How much? Free admission!
Explore Auroras rich art scene and witness some creative ways to change used materials into unique works of art. Booths of local art made from reclaimed materials, exhibitions, a car show, live music, and screenings of popular movies will take place at the festival.
Belmar's Music on the Plaza
Where? Belmar Plaza, W. Alaska Dr & S. Teller St. Lakewood, CO
When? Fridays 6-8 pm, Saturdays 2-4 pm
How much? Live music is free!
Cool off from those summer temps with great music in a beautiful, relaxing setting. Live jazz and acoustic performances will entertain guests throughout the summer months. Surrounded by great restaurants with patio seating, you can enjoy delicious food and drink while enjoying the performances.
This weekend, you can catch the After Midnight Jazz Trio on the 27th and Michael Lancaster on the 28th.
